Ever thought you'd love to have a go at drama? Perhaps you did it when you were younger? Or maybe you love drama, but modern, busy life means joining a show is very tricky?
The Unrehearsables is a drama group in West Sussex for grown-ups who want to laugh, let loose and try something new with absolutely zero pressure. Whether you’ve never stepped on a stage or you once played a tree in primary school, you’re in the right place.
-
🤹♀️ No experience needed. Seriously, none. If you’ve never done drama before, perfect!
-
😂 It’s silly: expect games, giggles and glorious nonsense.
-
📜 No line-learning, no shows, no commitment; just book your spot, turn up and join in!
-
🧓👩🦰🧑🦱 Meet people of all ages. We’re a mixed bunch and proud of it.
-
🕑 Two hours a week, locally; easy to fit in, hard to forget.

What to expect
The Unrehearsables is a space for creative exploration, connection and spontaneity. Whether you're a seasoned performer or simply curious, here's what you can expect when you join us:
🎭 A Welcoming Atmosphere
-
We celebrate individuality and encourage everyone to bring their unique energy.
-
No prior experience is needed - just a willingness to participate and be present.
🌀 Improvisation & Play
-
We usually start the session with a game that involves everyone - something fun like The Traitors! Then after a few warm up and drama games in small groups, we'll get a two-page script to play around with. After a break (with tea, coffee and biscuits provided!) we'll create a short play around a prompt. It's lots of fun!
-
Expect to engage in storytelling, role-play and creative exercises that evolve organically. If you're like me and need reading glasses please do bring them!
🕺 Physical Engagement
-
Activities often involve movement, gesture and spatial awareness - from subtle shifts to expressive action.
-
You’re free to jump in and out of exercises as you feel comfortable. Chairs are always available if you need to sit, observe or take a breather.
-
There’s no pressure to “perform” - just explore, respond and enjoy the moment.
